Summer wedding look
I just love a Summer wedding because (provided of course the weather is actually warm...) you can be bold and dare to wear bright colours and fun accessories which are so difficult to pull off on normal days... If you are struggling to find what to wear for a special occasion this Summer, are on a budget but still want to stand out, here are some suggestions which might provide some inspiration. Scroll down to find out where to find similar looking styles.
First, don't be afraid to pick 'un-matching' bright colours. What I like about my outfit here is the combination of the colour block poppy orange dress, the multicoloured shoes in cold blue-green shades and the immaculate white waistcoat. They make each other stand out and surprisingly fit well together.
Second, if you are ready to make the colour jump, try and find an accessory (could be a handbag or necklace) that will bring all these different colours together, preferably an accessory that will add a bit of fun to your outfit like a clutch with bright graphic designs. Whatever you decide to pick for adding a bit of umph to your outfit, avoid having both jewellery and handbag toned up. Here I chose to boost my outfit with the clutch so only wore a minimalist cuff alongside.
Third, heels, heels, heels obviously! but if you have one investment to make for your outfit, best to buy the shoes from a proper shoemaker (and keep the rest on a budget). I am often attracted by the cheap high street cool looking sandals but regret buying them every single time. While I can spend hours on heels when I am wearing a pair of Rupert Sanderson (as above), Louboutin, Sergio or Gianvito Rossi etc, there is so much pain my feet can bare from ill designed (yet bargain) shoes. And what's the point of going to a wedding if you are stuck on your chair not able to hit the dance floor or swapping your perfect sandals for a pair of ballet pumps?
Finally, I am not a make up specialist so others might disagree with me, but I tend to prefer low key make up. First, I always end up with smudgy eyes if I choose to go for the full-on eyelid palette which does not look great in those early morning hours. Second, with a bold coloured outfit, I personally don't like overdoing the make up part so I generally stick with eyeliner defined eyes and a nice matching lipstick.
What I am wearing on these pictures is a mix and match of designer and high street, which is what I always do: one or two precious long lasting items (usually bought on sale) combined with the latest cheap trends. They're all from previous seasons but I have included a selection of similar items at the bottom of this email.
