Reveal your inner wild cat

It's the unavoidable obsession of the season, and it has already been talked to death in all fashion magazines and blogs. The leopard fever is screaming at us from designer shops to the high street. From scarves to trainers, there is no escaping wild cats this Autumn. So why another post I hear you ask?

Well, I guess maybe because I am kind of a sceptic when it comes to leopard prints and it is not really a fashion frenzy I am embracing fanatically. Don't get me wrong, I love a touch of leopard and worn wisely it can be as classy as Audrey Hepburn. But get it wrong or overdo it and then it just looks tacky. It's like wearing a mini skirt with a massive decolleté and gigantic platform heels. Kim K may have what it takes to pull it off (both the leopard overdose and the mini maxi look actually). But I don't. So I would rather stick to tamed wild cats and wear leopard prints with restraint: a scarf, a pair of shoes, a belt etc (see bottom of this post for specific ideas).

For example, I quite like the idea of stealing my daughter's faux fur scarf from Bonpoint (£87).

Or wearing a pair of leopard ankle boots with a laid back look (also works well with a simple LBD). Those Tabitha Simmons are 50% on The Outnet but still pretty expensive (£350). But there are tons of much cheaper options including from Sam Edelman (see details below).

This silk dress from The Kooples (50% off, £98) I am actually not sure about. And the more I think about it, the less I am convinced I would actually wear it as pictured below. I think it would work much better with a chunky knit jumper on top to avoid the leopard bloc risk.

And in the same vein, these are the touches of leopard I would definitely wear.
